COVID-19 Update

Here at the Tennessee Innocence Project we continue to serve our clients during the COVID-19 pandemic. We wanted to share our work with you.

First, we hope that everyone is staying safe and healthy. These are unprecedented times, changing daily. It is essential now more than ever that we continue to be there for our clients who are currently incarcerated for crimes they did not commit. This work is challenging, but we continue to provide critical legal representation for those who are counting on us. The current pandemic is affecting people in prison – including individuals who are innocent behind bars. We need to be there for them today.

To meet the needs of our clients, we are keeping all communications up to date and assuring them that we are continuing to litigate their claims of actual innocence. And we are. Without our help, innocent people will remain incarcerated, and one day in prison is one day too many for someone who is innocent. If we aren’t there to continue the legal fight to prove their innocence, they suffer.

It is impossible to know how long this pandemic will last, but as long as it does, we will continue to serve our clients just as we have done for the past year.
